WALLER, Texas—July 7, 2026 — Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, Inc. (Daikin) announces the Daikin NEXIO Max package heat pump, an inverter-driven rooftop solution engineered to support building electrification, deliver energy efficiency performance and provide comfort in light commercial applications. Utilizing low‑GWP R‑32 refrigerant and Daikin variable-speed technology, NEXIO Max delivers high-performance heating and cooling across a broad range of operating conditions.
“NEXIO Max was developed to address the evolving needs of light commercial building owners, contractors and consulting engineers,” said Sachin Dixit, Vice President, Commercial Product Marketing. “By combining inverter-driven technology, low-GWP R-32 refrigerant and advanced controls, the platform is designed to deliver efficient operation, installation flexibility and occupant comfort. The result is a rooftop solution designed for both retrofit and new construction applications while helping customers navigate the transition toward electrified buildings.”
NEXIO Max combines inverter-driven performance, cold-climate heating capability and advanced controls to help building owners achieve energy-efficient operation, while supporting electrification goals,” said Mitul Lakdawala, Director of Light Commercial Product Marketing. “The system delivers up to 22 IEER cooling efficiency and maintains reliable heating performance in challenging conditions, operating at outdoor ambient temperatures down to -13°F while providing 85% of rated heating capacity at 14°F. With standard single-zone VAV functionality, native BACnet integration and configurable options such as Multi-Zone VAV and Hot Gas Reheat, NEXIO Max offers a flexible solution for a wide range of light commercial applications.”
Installation and Service Features
NEXIO Max is designed to help simplify replacement projects by aligning with common rooftop unit footprints without requiring a curb adapter, helping maintain existing curb and duct compatibility while managing installation time and cost.
Factory‑wired and labeled connections help streamline startup and commissioning, while an open-access cabinet design provides convenient access to key components for service and maintenance. Integrated Power Protection with phase-monitoring capabilities helps safeguard critical components, supporting reliable operation and reducing unplanned downtime.
Featuring native BACnet™ integration, Daikin NEXIO Max is designed to support Building Automation System, enabling connectivity with building management systems for real-time monitoring and control. The units are configured to operate with Daikin controls and are compatible with a range of third-party thermostats.
Remote monitoring, diagnostics and control capabilities are available through the Daikin HERO platform.
Smooth, low-noise operation is enabled by inverter-driven compressors, designed to manage cycling and support consistent sound levels. Direct-drive fan technology does not require belts, supporting maintenance considerations while delivering low sound operation and dependable performance over time.
Configurable options, including Multi-Zone VAV and Hot Gas Reheat, enable NEXIO Max to support multiple commercial applications while delivering comfort, humidity management, and operational flexibility.
NEXIO Max is available in 7.5, 8.5 and 10-ton capacities, delivering up to 114,000 BTU/h of cooling performance.
