Santa Fe College Pilots Daikin University Training Program

February 26, 2014

Daikin has named Gainesville, Florida’s Santa Fe College as the first post-secondary institution to pilot the complete Daikin University training program. Daikin donated equipment to the college’s Heating, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Ventilation (HARV) Program, where students can complete a degree in just two years with intensive hands-on training. VRV Meets VAV with the New DZK (Daikin Zoning Kit)

Daikin is pleased to introduce the new DZK, offering multi-zone temperature control similar to VAV (Variable Air Volume), but with the efficiencies of Daikin VRV or SkyAir. One indoor fan coil can serve up to 6 individual zones, using motorized dampers to control airflow in response to zone thermostats. Daikin Announces Fall Dealer Rebate Program

Daikin announced a Fall Rebate Program for U.S. Daikin Dealers, offering incentives for the KE Series (18 SEER, 8.5 HSPF) Ductless Mini-Split AC and Heat Pump systems purchased and installed between October 15 and December 31, 2013. Daikin VRV Dealer Presents at Comfortech 2013

Daikin AC Offers New Economizer Accessory for Ducted Fan Coils

Daikin has introduced a new outside air economizer accessory for FXMQ-P and FBQ ducted fan coils. Single enthalpy control is standard, with optional CO2 and dual (comparative) enthalpy control available, using Honeywell JADE™ logic controls for easy installation and setup. Daikin Releases Guidelines for ASHRAE Standard 15 and 34 Considerations

Today Daikin released a technical article discussing how VRV/VRF system installations can be designed to adhere to ASHRAE Standards 15 and 34. These safety standards do not yet address the specific features and technology of VRV/VRF systems, and this article provides a step-by-step process and reference checklist that can be used as a guide to help determine compliance with the standards. Daikin Provides Clarifications to Geothermal System Comparisons

Daikin released a technical article clarifying marketing information being published by other manufacturers, comparing performance of geothermal water source heat pump and air-cooled VRV heat pump systems installed at the updated ASHRAE Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Daikin's position is that the published "efficiency numbers" are of little real value, and the messaging potentially misleading, as the comparisons are made without consideration of load characteristics.
